Impacts of climate change in cities in India and the Philippines and local adaptation strategies
AsianCitiesAdapt brought together science and policy to support local governments in developing a local response to climate change.
Support was provided by ICLEI offices in Europe, South Asia and Southeast Asia, the Indian Institute for Technology Delhi and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. Between 2010 and 2013 these partners actively engaged with local officials from the following cities:
- Howrah, Madurai, Kochi and Visakhapatnam in India; and
- Baguio, Dagupan, San Fernando (La Union), and Tuguegarao in the Philippines.
AsianCitiesAdapt formed part of the International Climate Initiative. The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety supported this initiative on the basis of a decision adopted by the German Bundestag.
