Tuguegarao

Tuguegarao, with a population of nearly 140,000 inhabitants (2010), is the city capital of the Cagayan province. Tuguegarao is the economic center of the Cagayan Valley Region, located on a peninsula in the Cagayan Valley, 346 km north of Manila.

It is sheltered by the Sierra Madre Mountains in the East, Cordilleras in the West and the Caraballo Mountains in the South. It grew on the banks of the Cagayan River and the Pinacanauan River, near the southern border of the province. It covers a total land area of 113 km2. Tuguegarao is a city of excellence for education, commerce, trade and culture.
